Cable 7424 Polisher.
The Porter Cable 7424,
dual-action, machine polisher is a remarkably versatile machine for the
automotive enthusiast. Most people use it to compound, polish and wax their
car's exterior paintwork but, with the proper brush, it is equally at home
scrubbing your vehicle's interior carpet, upholstery, leather and vinyl
surfaces.
We offer three different brushes
that are threaded to fit the Porter Cable 7424 and 7336 machine polisher for
specific detailing tasks. (You do not need to change the counterweight to use
any of these brushes.)

& Vinyl Brush
| I use this brush all the time
on both the leather & vinyl upholstery in my home and in my car. In the
summer months here in Florida, we're constantly dealing with perspiration
stains, sun tan oil stains, blue jean dye stains and black belt dye stains. The
key here is to remove the stain quickly before it becomes baked into the vinyl
or leather.
My favorite cleaner to use with this brush is BLACKFIRE
Interior Cleaner.

| First, I spray a Microfiber applicator pad with
my interior cleaner and wipe it over the surface. If the stain remains, I will
put this Grey, Leather & Vinyl Brush on my 7424 polisher, mist the brush
with interior cleaner and go over the stain for 10 to 15 seconds. This brush has
ultra-soft, exploded tip, bristles that are designed to get into the leather's
"character lines" without scratching or cracking the surface. If the
stain remains after scrubbing, chances are you are not going to get it out. We
do not recommend using a stronger solvent cleaner for fear of removing dye and
making the stain worse.
Note on cleaning leather
home furnishings: Always test a less noticeable area (like the back
or bottom of a cushion) before machine scrubbing to test for color fastness. If
the leather "spots" when wiping it with your damp applicator pad, we
do not recommend machine scrubbing. Discontinue any cleaning procedure that
removes dye from the material being cleaned.

| Use this brush with
Eimann Fabrik Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner or 303
Rug/Upholstery Cleaner to clean carpet floor mats. Remove the mat
from the car and spray with cleaner.
Go over the mat in a side-to-side and
up-and-down motion until stains have been removed. Vacuum or pat the mat to
remove excess cleaner or simply allow the mat to air dry. |

This is also our best brush for
scrubbing vinyl hardtops and vinyl convertible tops. Work on one half of the top
at a time. Hose the top with water and spray with Raggtopp
Cleaner or 303
Vinyl/Fabric Convertible Top Cleaner. Using this brush on your
Porter Cable 7424, set the speed between 3-1/2 and 4 and go over the top in an
up-and-down and side-to-side motion until all stains have been removed. Rinse
thoroughly and allow the top to air dry. I do not recommend this brush for use
on fabric convertible tops. On fabric tops, use the Turquoise Soft Carpet
& Upholstery Brush.
If your car has vinyl floor mats, like our
English Floor Mats, use this white nylon brush with 303
Aerospace Cleaner to remove grime and oily stains.

& Carpet Scrub Brush

This brush is gentler than the
white nylon, carpet brush. Use this brush with Eimann
Fabrik Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner or 303
Rug/Upholstery Cleaner to clean the OEM carpeting in your car and
velour upholstery.
Again, spray the surface to be cleaned with cleaner and
scrub in an up-and-down and side-to-side motion. I scrub for 10 to 15 seconds or
until the stains are removed. Pat the surface with a towel to remove excess
cleaner or allow to air dry. |

This is also my favorite brush
for cleaning fabric convertible tops. Work on one half of the top at a time.

Important:
These brushes can come off during scrubbing if not securely tightened on the
machine. You MUST use the wrench that comes with the 7424 polisher to securely
tighten the brush on the polisher.
