C'mon, a $139 chair in the garage?

    I know the value of a good chair. As the person that writes every word on this website, I spend a lot of hours sitting in front of a computer. Years ago, a friend talked me into buying a Herman Miller Aeron chair for my office. It changed my life! For the first time, I could work on the computer for hours at a time without fatigue or lower back pain.

    As I approach senior citizen status, I am forced to come to grips with certain limitations. I love to work on my cars but I can no longer bend, squat or even sit on the garage floor without aching muscles and lower back pain. About a year ago, I brought our Compact Creeper Seat home for a photo shoot, tried it and never brought it back. I use it every time I wax or polish my cars.

    Recently, I met Kirt Whiteside of Whiteside Mfg. Co., the maker of our Creeper Seat at SEMA our national trade show. When I told Kirt how much I liked his creeper seat, he had me sit on their Wide Track Rolling Chair. What a difference! The larger seat with the low-rise back was a major improvement in comfort over my favorite creeper seat. Next, I tried their Adjustable Rolling Chair. This chair adjusts from 16-1/2 to 21 inches which doesn't seem like much but it makes a big difference in leg comfort.

    Returning from the trade show, I immediately ordered an Adjustable Rolling Chair for myself. If I were a little younger, I'm sure the Wide Track Rolling Chair would have suited me just fine but I really liked the flexibility of the adjustable chair. If you're looking at these rolling chairs and telling yourself you don't need a $79. or $139. chair in the garage, you're right. You don't need it but, if it won't break your piggy bank, these chairs will make a huge difference in reducing aches and pains while allowing you to pursue your detailing passion.
