  Menzerna Power Gloss, 32 oz.
This heavyweight compound
behaves like a
polish!
This compound does one
of the nicest end runs around the laws of physics I've seen. Menzerna Power Gloss is a
heavy duty compound that still behaves like a light-duty polish! It contains
more aggressive, clustered, milled aluminum oxide particles than used in Menzerna
Intensive Polish and it contains twice as many of them! This gives
Power Gloss more than double the cutting power of Intensive polish yet it creates little
to no increase in compounding haze!
Let me get on my soap box and
say that again. Power Gloss has twice the cutting power of Intensive Polish with
little to no increase in compounding haze. In the world of polishing, this is
nuclear fusion! This is an excellent polish for chalky gel-coat (Fiberglas)
surfaces. Power Gloss will restore gloss to mild to medium dull, chalky, gel
coat finishes.

For those of you interested in
technical specs, the abrasives in Power Gloss are a fraction of the size
normally found in compounds and milled to a uniformity of size that is unheard
of in domestic polishes. This uniformity of size is a Menzerna trademark and one
factor contributing to the product's reduced haze.
Additionally, these particle clusters are designed to fracture under heat and pressure
(circular polishing at 1,000 to 1,200 rpm) into smaller and smaller particles.
As the size decreases, Power Gloss starts to behave like a polish, actually
reducing its own compounding haze.
The philosophy of using a
larger quantity of smaller particle clusters rather than a smaller amount of larger
abrasive particles carries additional benefits beyond reduced compounding haze. The
higher concentration of cutting particles allows a lower polisher speed (1000 -
1200 rpm vs. 1500 - 2000 rpm for other compounds) which reduces the likelihood
of burning the paint, uses less product and produces less residues.
Like all Menzerna polishes and
compounds, Power Gloss is a water-based formula containing no silicones or
fillers.

Note:
Power Gloss is Menzerna's most versatile and popular product but it is a
professional compound.
Power Gloss can be used
with dual-action polishers but was designed for optimum results with circular
polishers.
Gel-coat
Instructions for Circular Polishers:
|
| Work on areas of about 2 square feet.
Apply out of direct sunlight. Surface should be at "garage
temperature". Apply two, 8
inch lines of Power Gloss on the paint. Mist gel-coat Compounding Pad (our
Gel-coat Power Pad works great) with water and,
with machine off, spread compound over the surface. Set the polisher's speed
control to 1000 rpm. Place the pad on the paint and turn the polisher
on. Work over the area in a figure-8 pattern until almost dry. Mist the surface
with a 50/50 solution of alcohol and water. Wipe off residues and inspect
the surface. If the surface is still dull, continue compounding. When gloss
is restored, wipe off any remaining residues with a damp Terry cloth or Microfiber cloth. Continue
working in 2 square foot sections until vehicle is done.
|
Clean-up - After compounding, wash all
pads in a bucket of soapy water, or Snappy Clean Pad Cleaner, rinse and let air dry.
Net weight 32 oz.
