Use this polish to reduce swirls
and create a brilliant gloss.
In the strictest sense, paint
cleaners remove surface defects and swirls while a polish improves surface
gloss. The lines are blurred however as many cleaners provide some polishing
action and many polishes have some cleaning ability.
Meguiar's No. 9 Swirl
Remover is one such cleaner/polish. It is primarily a polish (like Meguiar's
No 7 Show Car Glaze) yet it contains a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner to reduce
minor swirls, paint defects and oxidation. Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner
is a stronger cleaner than No. 9 Swirl Remover but does not have No. 9's
polishing oils to improve surface gloss. In other words, Medallion Premium Paint
Cleaner is mostly cleaner with a small amount of polishing oils where No. 9
Swirl Remover is mostly polish (to improve surface gloss) with a mild cleaner.
If your RV's paint is in
good condition ( one or two years old) choose No. 9 Swirl Remover and follow
with your favorite wax. If your RV is older with duller paint or deeper swirls
use Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner first, follow with No. 9 Swirl Remover and
then finish with your favorite wax.
No. 9 Swirl Remover works by
"rounding-off" the top edge of the swirl which robs sunlight of a
sharp edge to cause a reflection. Polishing oils and fillers then fill in the
swirl and restore a deep shine on the paint. When you wax over the polish, you
seal the fillers in place, visually hiding the swirls.
Swirl Remover is non-abrasive
and safe for all paint finishes including clearcoats. Because it does not remove
the layer of paint that contains the swirl, swirls may reappear as the wax ages.
Repeated applications of Swirl Remover over time will round over the edges of
minor swirls more and more making them invisible.
Swirl Remover applies easily
by hand, orbital or dual action polisher leaving a clean, swirl-free surface
ready for your favorite wax. (Machine application will remove more swirls than
can be achieved by hand.)
Usage Tips:
- Always use on a cool surface out of direct
sunlight.
- Apply by orbital or dual action
polisher.
- Use sparingly, apply to one section at a time
(i.e. door, fender, etc). Don't apply too much polish, only so much can
penetrate and nourish the surface at one time. Over polishing can create
extra work as well as a residue that may be difficult to remove.
- Immediately remove excess residues before
beginning the next section. Do not allow residues to dry on the surface..
- Always follow with a protectant
(wax) for gloss and protection
Follow with a quality carnauba
wax to deepen the gloss and protect the finish. Meguiar's No. 26 Paste Wax and P21S
Carnauba Wax works well with this polish.
