 Flexible Backing Plates for Circular Polishers
Our best backing
plates
for circular polishers.
We learned about
these backing plates from talking with paint consultants to BMW, Munich and
Mercedes-Benz, Stuttgart. We located the manufacturer of these Flexible,
Molded Urethane, Backing Plates in Europe and are delighted to be able to
offer them to American car care enthusiasts. These are the same backing plates
being used by BMW, Mercedes and other German automakers in their assembly plants
and are considered to be the finest backing plates available.

Flexible, Urethane Backing Plates:

The VELCROŽ brand material is molded
into the plate eliminating delamination.

The flexible edge reduces spontaneous
heat build-up when transitioning from flat to contoured surfaces. These
plates are recommended for compounding, polishing and finishing
"soft" German clear coats.

Vastly reduced heat transfer
keeps motor heat from being transferred to the paint surface.

Plated steel threaded insert
will not cross-thread.

Reinforced inner construction
uses steel struts molded into the center hub for superior strength.

Beveled outer edge allows easy
pad removal and replacement.
Always use the
recommended size backing plate for the sized pad you are using. Never use a
backing plate that is larger than the foam pad or disc.

| FBP-375C - Use this
3.75
inch Flexible, Urethane Back-up Plate to safely hold 4 inch wool discs and
foam pads. This is the ideal size for spot repairs as it allows you to
focus on a small area without affecting the surrounding paint.
Do not use on 6 or
6-1/2 inch pads.
Our
FBP-375C plate has a standard, 5/8 x 11 threaded insert to fit
professional circular polishers.

Pads. The 5/8-11 inserts fits
professional circular polishers allowing quick and easy pad exchanges. |

| FBP-6C - Use this 6-1/8
inch
Flexible, Urethane Backing Plate with our 7.5
inch Advanced, Variable Contact pads. This plate
contains a centering plug for precise pad alignment.
This plate will not
work with our standard, 6-1/2 inch pads or the Orange Power Pad.
The 5/8-11 inserts fits professional circular polishers allowing quick and easy pad exchanges.

Note: When you use the FBP-6C
backing plate with any of the 7.5 inch pads mentioned above, you will
think the plate is too large for the back of the pad. It isn't. Center the
plate's plug on the pad's center hole and work the edge of the pad around
the plate with your fingers. It will fit the pad like a glove. Most
domestic backing plates are not this precise but this is the way the plate
is designed.
